　　报告提纲Abstract: The intrinsic value of a thing is independent of its economic value and instrumental value, and independent of whether or not it is valued for its own sake.I argue that intrinsic value comes in degrees and that the degree of a thing's intrinsic value can change over time.By reference to thought experiments involving a duplication machine and an annihilation machine, I conclude that everything that exists is intrinsically valuable to some degree, no matter how small.This has important implications for a number of ethical questions.
