Research Areas: philosophy of science and technology

Wang Bolu, Ph.D., is now a Master's instructor of Philosophy of Science and Technology in the School of Philosophy, and is an interlocking council member of The Chinese Society for Dialectics of Nature. His individual works include: Technical dilemma and its breakthrough (2009), A compendious study of Marx's thought on technology (2011), What is the technology exactly? A theoretical illumination of the world of broad technology (2006), etc. So far, more than 90 theses of his have been issued in the Journal of Dialectics of Nature, Studies in Dialectics of Nature, Studies in Philosophy of Science and Technology and other key periodicals. He has presided over and completed two projects supported by the National Social Science Foundation of China: (i) Industrial technology across / under the new technology revolution and the northwest minority ethnic communities (98BZX043) and (ii) Technical dilemma and human liberation under the background of new technology revolution (06BZX002), and five provincial and ministerial-level projects. At present, he is presiding over the project: Technology thought on Das Capital and its manuscript is supported by the National Social Science Foundation of China, A research Marx technology thought and its evolution supported by Humanities and Social Science Research Foundation of Ministry of Education of China, etc. He has been awarded three Second Prize and one Third Prize of Provincial Social Science Achievements, plus many provincial and ministerial-level honors and awards.
